This would make sense, as it would be pretty easy to animate a mere pair of train cars - it wouldn't require any engine modifications to create a convincing facsimile.
Have the demon war engine by itself as one possible unit, as well as a demon engine pulling a mortar, a demon engine pulling a cannon, and so on. The most likely solution I could imagine is the following: never exceed two cars in sequence. How can they possibly do these trains justice? For one faction, CA might not implement it. The engine has never accomplished anything even remotely like this, and I'm sure it will be incredibly difficult to implement. Consider the problem of having one engine pull several boxcars in sequence, and the complexity of having the train "flex" around their coupling points. Simply put, it doesnt support trains at all. The point where this becomes an issue is when we consider total war's game engine. Combining this demon engine with several cars, an enterprising Chaos Dwarf may bring an impressively large train to the battlefield. This is, naturally, a demon-possessed steam train which SUBSTANTIALLY boosts the speed of artillery pieces pulled behind it, and can ram enemies for extra fun. These boxcars can couple with each other, and, very importantly, can be pulled along by something called a War Engine. Cannons, mortars, rocket launchers - you name it, it comes on a boxcar. In tabletop, all Chaos Dwarf artillery pieces are mounted on wheeled carts. Trains are cool! But who else loves trains? The Chaos Dwarfs.
